By now you know the TSA has implemented backscatter x-ray screening (the naked scanner)…and indignation runs high. The complaints boil down to health and privacy.
Health: a) the device does dose you with ionizing radiation; b) there is no safe level of ionizing radiation. Case closed?? The smoking gun??
Air travel is a major source of ionizing radiation. The backscatter x-ray is the same as adding 4 minutes (or less) to your trip. Would you protest the airliner circling the airport before landing? Same results…
If you want to avoid ionizing radiation…stay the hell off airplanes!!!
Privacy: That is a personal issue. I found the security checkpoints onerous and invasive before the scanner, but we all make our own personal decisions.
[I tried to post this to tumblr, but tumblr is down. Why would tumblr users pick a war with 4chan? Seems kind of stupid.]
