I just finished reading Pierre Hadot’s “Philosophy as a Way of Life.”
This is the best book that I have read in at least 10 years. Focused mostly on the Hellenistic era but also going as far back as Socrates and as far forward as Nietzsche and Foucault.

At the local Barnes and Noble book store, they have a new section on Atheism. They’ve hacked together the space by shrinking the philosophy section. Two full aisles, front and back for religion, a small section for philosophy a few feet across. Then they go and shrink the section further. What can really be said [...]

Over the weekend I upgraded the RC versions of Windows 7 on my laptop and desktop to the final version of Windows 7. I did a clean install on my desktop and an unsupported upgrade on my laptop. Both installs were flawless.

I’ve just recently given my ancient philosophy site, The Agora, a visual and content refresh.
